Default Oil pressure problem Fresh build

just got done building my b20/v and started it 2 days ago it had decent oil pressure but not the best somewhere around 20-25 at ilde so i drove it and at like 3-4k it would have around 50-65 psi of oil pressure. so i only have like maybe 10 miles on the motor. so today i was driving it and completely lost all oil pressure and have no clue why??? i disconnected the oil line coming from my samewich plate to the head and cranked it off not even a drop of oil???? i am really speechless to why all of the sudden i lost me volume???? has anyone had this problem im going to start doing to look more into it 2maro and start pulling the oil pan and oil pump!

I did shut it off immediately when there was no oil pressure i checked the oil looks good so can anyone help me thanks

The first thing that comes to mind is the oil pickup nuts/bolts may have backed out, or the pickup might be clogged

one of the bolts from the pick up was in the pan!!! **** but i checked the bearings and now have to get new ones there not that bad but should wear for only 5-8 miles lol there were metal shavings in the bottom of the pan so i debating what to do b/c i need my car running by friday. i was thinking of have my crank polished and puttting new bearings in. but could just that bolt coming out lose all of my oil pressure?

anyone think it was sucking air from where it bolts to the pump since the bolt was out and thats why i lost all oil pressure?

hmmm.....if the main bearings were starved of oil then chances are they may have damaged the crank as well......you can try to quickly tighten up that oil pickup bolt and run the engine again and see if it builds oil pressure....

bearing damage can happen so quickly when there is no oil....but its hard to give you any kind of good advice without seeing the engine.

i guess if it were mine i would pull the engine and send it back to the machine shop and have them inspect it. also have the oil pump checked out too.

oil pump could have got air locked from sucking the air in. did you plastigauge your bearings to see if they were in spec

very close to spec ya when i put it together i cleaned all the oil and water galleys so it had to have been from sucking air from where the pick-up tube and oil pump meet. im grinding the crank so i know they will all be the same and then plastigauging when i go back together on wedsneday
