Default Thoughts, Opinions on my JDM B18C setup

Hey was looking to get some opinions on my setup I've started piecing together.

I’m looking to build a reliable DD to have some fun on my commute. Motor is a JDM GSR that I recently had hot tanked, honed and crank micro polished. (Mainly just to refresh). For now, the head will remain stock. Here is what I have planned:

Blackworks racing Ramhorn
TREADSTONE Turbonetics T3/T4E 50 trim stage 3 .63 Turbo Kit (Minus Manifold and IC)
Mishimoto 31" Black IC
Tial BOV
Manual boost controller
Hondata s300
Walbro 255
RC 750cc’s
Skunk2 Rail
3" custom exhaust with Vibrant stealth
Canada pump gas (94 octane)

What kind of streetable WHP do you think I can make on this setup? Also is a FPR needed for this kind of setup?

All opinions welcome. Thanks!

Didn't you fancy installing a set of forged pistons and rods in there? I'd recommend it...

True, but it depends on your HP goals. What were your plans for the bottom end?

And the turbo you selected is a good one, but it will only get you to about 325 ish whp.

That being said, your attainable goal should be around 300 whp plus or minus a few hp.

A stock rebuild bottom end, with arp rod bolts, arp head studs, and piston rings that are gapped slightly larger than stock spec will do you just fine for this kind of power.

If you have any plans in the future to upgrade that turbo and make 400+ whp, then you should do the forged rod/piston combo now while the motor is being re built, as the low 300 ish whp range is about the top of what you can get reliably out of stock rods and pistons, you dig?

Thanks for the input. The block and head were reassembled using ARP hardware. Longblock has already been put together sitting on an engine stand. 320-350ish WHP was my goal for now. Just wanted a clean DD that can run with my buddy's STI and 370z. Plus I'm now broke lol. Cheers

On stock internals I would highly suggest you make your MAX whp about 320, anymore on a DD and your going to bust a rod or ring land pretty quick, 300 whp is a good safe bet, and it should be enough to put the spankin' on an sti or a 370z no problem!

ive seen way less beat a basic bolt-on sti(40 roll) and i would think same with the 370 though i have never been in or ran with a 370,but my friend had the HR 350z(highest stock hp/increased redline) my cousins, I/E, neon srt4 beat that till 120mph but after that the 350 pulls hard...

im with boosted D....be safe rather than sorry. i would think 275whp(prob less tbh) would have no problem with your friends cars. Also as boosted D said i would try 2 keep it to the lower 300's if you do higher HP. Maybe meth if you want to push it? i know a few friends that are using meth on stock turbo set-ups(neons/evos) to squeeze some psi with peace of mind with great results. Maybe that route?

with that set-up on OEM pistons you will have a Fun streetable set-up good for 300whp... I wouldnt worry about what youre going to beat. Its going to be fun to drive take it for what it is. Not a bad turbo choice (in regards to size, im not familiar with treadstone)

If you want more then 325ish i would look into water/meth or E85. But honestly like i said take it for what it is....make youre 300whp have a fun streetable car and when you get bored i would look into upgrading youre turbo/block
