Default Building and boosting a b18c1.

Alright, so I've seen what people would want to do with an n/a setup on this car..but..there's nothing like straight line performance with a high horsepower turbo setup in a hatchback..

So here's what I'm looking for. This car is gonna' be a daily driver/weekend track car if need be.. I'll be running on pump gas with octane boosters if need be..I'm WANTING 420ish maybe 430ish at the wheels and here's what I've come up with as far as a decent setup.

Block/Head -
darton cylinder sleeving (recommend a bore my sleeves as well?)
cp 9.0:1 pistons/pauter rods/rod bolts of some sort
factory gsr crank
rc 720cc injectors/aem fuel rail/b&m fuel press. regulator
decent ramhorn exhaust manifold/ with t3/t4 hybrid turbo, dunno what size housing to go with/greddy type s bov/tial 38mm wastegate/boost controller/turbo timer of some sorts..just the regular stuff.
precision turbo fmic..
skunk2 intake manny/skunk2 70mm tb
3" dp with 3" turbo exhaust
i've yet to determine my cams, i'm wanting to rev to 9200 or so..i'm thinking of rm's valvetrain with some sort of cams, anyone think they can refer to me what cams would be good with this setup? and is a 3 angle valve job needed? i'll be going in for a mild port/polish on the head..so, whatever needs to be done can be done.
hondata chipped p28 (coming off a friend with a 422whp Integra on a conservative tune, his car's ready for almost 700at the crank.)

It's a little cloudy still, I need to revise it. I REALLY wanna' go with a turbo setup but I don't know if I'm gonna need to bore into the block if i sleeve it, what size pistons i'd need..if another crank is necessary?

HEEEEEEEELP.

Go with an 83mm block, 880 cc injectors, t3 60-1 or gt3076r if BB. CTR cams, ditch the skunk2 IM and get a victorx. Oh and the stock crank is fine.

Goodluck witht he build

darton cylinder sleeving (recommend a bore my sleeves as well?) -they should at least do an overbore of .5mm
cp 9.0:1 pistons/pauter rods/rod bolts of some sort -expensive but good

rc 720cc injectors/aem fuel rail/b&m fuel press. regulator -might get to you your hp goal

Oh, and if anyone could suggest maybe a strong rod that's slightly cheaper than Pauter it'd be HIGHLY appreciated. -just priced them.-

A question for you folks, also.

A friend of mine has a bare LS block he'd sell me. I wanna' use it to build the block while I'm driving on the current motor I have now, then get the head built at another time..it should be a quicker build than the block, you think?

Here's my question, I'd like to go with a 2.0 and maybe an 84.5mm bore with sleeving. Is there a certain size piston I'd need to go with if I went with that setup with some kinda rods or could I just order shelf low-comp pistons from CP or Arias and have them work?

You order the piston to whatever bore your planning to bore the block too. Manley rods are a little cheaper than pauter and get the job done.

I forgot all about Manley.

Is Arias a decent turbo piston, anyone?

Most forged pistons will do the trick, everyone has different opinions on what they like or dislike about all the piston manufactures.

as long as you have the motor to support the rpm, you can rev it higher. to save money you can keep the gsr cams and upgrade the valvetrain. it wont be like an n/a motor where power will start dropping off drastically.

Oh, I see.

Uh, another question for anyone who may drop in..

Is the b18b1/b18c1 THAT different from one another? I mean..in bare form.

I've been told that cams, while pretty important in any build, don't really matter if you're doing a mild turbo build..

So I'll probably end up doing that.

Is one better to boost on than the other? I don't wanna' trip up and make any mistakes if I buy it and go to build it with the GSR in mind lol

The nice thing about the gsr block is the factory gurdle. LS crank/rods in a gsr is one of my favorite combos.

people that build LS motors usually end up filling the bottom end with ITR parts and an aftermarket rotating assembly, then using a vtec head so i would def stick with the b18c1.

I thought LS rods were weak?
