Hey guys,

I got this block from a friend that got it sleeved by JG Engine dynamics...and I've heard the horror stories, but I got a deal that I couldn't pass up. It has never been ran, but I'm not sure how much I should trust this block from some of the stories I've heard, so I brought it to a machine shop and they said everything looks fine with the block except they weren't sure on one part. They said the sleeves do not mate up with the mains at the bottom of the block. They said they match up with the water jacket, and if they are supposed to match the water jacket it's fine, but if not then there might be a problem. This is a picture of the bottom of the sleeve. What do you guys think? It's kinda dirty lol.

 

All of the sleeves are the same way. Both have that little space from the bottom of the sleeve to the block.

 

I'd have your machine shop make the appropriate corrections if possible. Fell for the old Javier tactics, eh? Poor soul... Now you see what that "deal" cost you.. your piece of mind.

Well ya it was still worth it. I got the block, new arias pistons, gsr crank for next to nothing. In essence, I didn't pay for it lol. So there is something wrong with it?

 

Never once have I ever seen anything from Javier worth free parts alone. there's always a catch.

I've never seen one stepped like that. Again, verify with your machine shop that it is ok for build.

You could still pay for it. If the saddles are not straight or if the sleeves shift or crack, the crank and pistons you put into it could be compromised if the block blows up in a big way.

On the positive side, it could be the deal of a life time.

 

Ya. I actually bought it a while back so it's mine already. With what I got, the block was essentially free. I think I'm gonna end up sleeving another block.
