Default all motor vs turbo

here's my dilema.. I am ready to get buzy with the engine swap (financially) but am having problems understanding which way to go. I know I want over 300hp and I want boost but.. what I cant figure out is,

1.what kind of head work do I need to have done for turbo (if any) Is head work for all motor setups only?

2.I know I should have the cylinders sleeved but, what else can I do to the block

3.cams?? Do I upgrade the cam or is that for an all motor setup only

4.Drivetrain- well, nevermind, I know the answer there.

thanks for any help fellas

This book is a good begginers guide that covers turbo, superchargers, and N/A. Covers all your questions.

If you're sure you'll be happy with 300whp and won't turn up the boost, you won't need sleeves. Forged internals will be fine. You also won't need any head work. You'll get to 300 just fine with any b series head. Cams: save your money.

How about some more details as to what you plan to work with....Which engine?

Well, I tell ya, Ive been looking pretty hard on importbuilders.com and have been communicating with a sales rep there via email. I'm really digging their "killer" block and their "killer" head with the "killer" turbo.
What I am confused on is, with a turbo setup, I am not sure if any head work is even necessary seeing as how the air is "forced" into the cylinders, so how would a port/polish job help out with F/I? And also, I have been reading up on cams and understand the TDC and overlap principles. From what I understand, a person does NOT want too much overlap with a F/I setup as it will loose alot of the pressure with both valves being open at the same time.....
btw, is this slpr from hondachat?

they way I feel about porting a head for a FI engine is that the bigger and smoother the ports are the more air you can cram in. for example, if I were to boost 10 lb through a 1/4 inch pipe I would not make as much power as if I were to boost 10lb through a 1 inch pipe. The bigger the ports and smoother means better flow for the boost which is less resistance and allows the turbo to act more efficiently. Now I don’t mean just bore one big port, but to do it mildly for street applications for the lack of boost at low rpms, otherwise I would port rigorously and Squeeze. As for cams I would stay stock because you don’t want overlap and I use the saved money from the new cams that one might have bought and visit the dino. That’s where you are going to make all your power. I think that tuning is the most important thing about turbo cars, not how much you boost.

IB has very nice set-ups, good choice if you don't have the time/experience to build it yourself. Thier engines are making some great power.

Correct, too much overlap is not recommended for turbocharged/supercharged engines.
