Engine Work With Turbo
Engine Work for Turbo
ok i was wondering exactly what is a really good setup to run Turbo on a Stock 90-91 CRX Si engine d16a i wanna know everything from head work to block work, i wanna run low 13s to 12s, and i am willing to spend 10,000 dollars on doing so.. but i wanna know exactly what to do, i don't want to put 10,000 dollars into waste..... also i have a question, is it true that you dont want to port and polish your head for turbo, i heard you just want to Port your head, thats what Extreme Motorsports from NJ claims, but i dont know if its true, i know you shouldnt port and polish your intake manifold, anyways, help is appreciated....

Re: Engine Work With Turbo (cyberx)
Have you considered a swap? Any B series motor with a drag kit at 8 psi should give you those numbers without building the motor. Probably cheaper then building the D16.

Re: Engine Work With Turbo (Dutchie)
Yes i have thought of that, but my brother has a B16 in his CRX and hes working it to death, and plus i want to be diffrent everybody that hooks up their CRX drops a new engine in their, and think their running low 14s, when in fact their just running 15s, i dont believe in spending around 3-4 Gs on an engine tranny and mounts linkage, and all those extra parts that i would need and would most likely go with like Intake Headers and Exhaust when i do the swap, when i can just spend 4 Gs on a Turbo and 5-6 G's on engine work and have my car running faster then people who spend 4 Gs putting an engine on, and turboing it stock at about 8 lbs only running 13's with the turbo if that....... and plus it is more fun having a little engine turbod, and i believe id get more respect from it.... thanks...
