competition heads
I had a few Q's about competition cylinder heads. I was looking at JG's site and wondering if you order a head from them do they just send you one built or do you send your head to them to have it done? Are JG heads any good? Who else makes competition heads? I know Portflow and DPR do headwork and I've heard they're both good. Any other highly recommended names would be appreciated. Thanks.
See now I thought of DPR, but since he mentioned DPR and asked for other respected companies, I didn't bother mentioning DPR. Guess I'm just goofy that way.
Don't hear PYR mentioned much, and I've no experience with them. The one post I've seen them mentioned was a glowing review of their work.

I had jg biult my head Which they called it their redline series but if I knew better i would had them do the pro sreries instead(bigger and better components). MY experience with it took them 2 and a half close to three yrs to build my engine. You can send yours in , its probably quicker that way. You can ask if they still will find a head for you and they will charge you for the core. If i had to do it all over again I would not have them build my engine ever. They are too busy to talk with after they get their money and they gave me lots of excuse about why my motor is not finished. One excuse they gave me was that they had the wrong hole plugged for vtec and they have been doing this for awhile. I have learned enugh that i can port and polish my head and build up my own engine from scratch. That is my next project that i have going on in my garage. My engine didn't even look like the one 's on their site. The port like like half as* jobs and the block guard they made had all the holes not aligned to the gasket holes. thats my .02 about JG engine dynamics.
