Tach not working need help

Default Tach not working need help

Okay after extending the driver side harness and replacing the cabin harness my tch no longer works I installed it in a friends car so i know it works I also have no breaks in the blue tach signal wire I also replaced the icm in the distributor what could be the problem how can I narrow this down car is a 94 civic si with gsr swap thanks

It's obviously a wiring issue. The tach worked prior to extending wires?

Sometimes the tach just goes bad, on my 92 EH3 I had to tap the cluster to get the tach to register, swapped out the cluster with a VTi and problem solved.
So if your sure the wire is good from the dizzy to the cluster plug, than that would be my guess.

I put the tach in a friends car yesterday and it worked fine and yes it work before the extending

Then I agree with grumblemarc, it's gotta be in the wiring. Did you test the tach signal wire? or just a visual inspection?

I tested it on a multimeter on vac 200 it read 6.5 I believe at idle and would go up when I reved it up

Is that at the signal wire pin on the cluster connector?

Ya the solid blue wire behind the cluster do u know where I can find a pin out for the driver side harness I can only seem to find the passenger side

Nevermind thx guys I got it I had the tach signal wire in the wrong place on the cluster
