Default 96 ITR swap in a EG

im helping a buddy put a 96 integra type r swap into his 93 civic Si. its coming with the harness and ecu. i know it theres a obd1 to obd2a ecu jumper but will the engine harness be a plug and plug to the obd1 harness plug for the engine harness? not too familiar with obd2 conversion but since the swap is coming with the ecu we want to keep it obd2 .

if you have the obd2 engine harness with the motor like you say, then just plug it into the matching ecu. whats hard about that? ur not going 2 to 1 or 1 to 2.

obd1 and obd2 plugs at the ecu are not the same. and im not sure if the engine harness plugs at the plug by the shock tower.

a 96 is obd2 92-95 are obd1

First off, you would need to extend some wires since you're using a RHD harness. Second, it will plug into the strut tower harness. Third, you will need a chipped OBD1 P28/P30/P72/P06 etc.

Yes, the OBD2 ITR Engine harness is a 2-piece design that is 100% plug-and-play with the EG chassis. You'll need a jumper harness to plug the ECU in. Easiest swap in the Honda world.

Yes, but make sure it's a LHD harness. If its a JDM RHD harness, forget it.

ok so what if i just use the obd1 engine harness from the EG and just buy an obd1 disdributor and use the P28 ecu it has and get that tuned for the ITR swap ?

You'll also want to get an OBD1 alternator and injectors, or cut and splice the plugs from the RHD harness, you could use a chipped and tuned P28 in either case.
