will an obd1 engine harness work on an obd2 car?
i plugged the obd1 harness in my 97 gsr, but I seem that I have a left over plug. I already have an obd2->obd1 ecu harness, but now I need an engine harness.
Thanks,
Nick

Iam confused, do you have a obd1 engine harness in the car or you have a obd2 engine harness. Becasue the wire left over if the and its a 3 cavity plug near the crank its the crank flucuation sensor. the obd motors do not have this sensor, its strictly obd2 and up.

Sorry, Im a little confused.
Are you trying to convert your '97 gsr to obd1? Cause if so, you just keep your obd2 engine harness. Just plug in the jumper harness and the obd1 ecu.
Or are you doing an obd1 swap into your '97?

I have an obd2 car(97 integra), I'm want to swap obd1 engine that comes with a obd1 harness in the engine bay. I have an obd2->obd1 ecu conversion harness and obd1 ecu.

Ok, I see. That makes more sense.
Well, I've never attempted this, but it should work. I know that you can use an obd2 integra engine harness in an obd1 integra or civic, then run the motor off of an obd1 ecu.
So I dont see why you couldnt run the obd1 harness and motor in an obd2 car, as long as your planning to use an obd1 ecu(which you are).
As for the extra plug, disregard it, since your not running obd2.
