Default trying to do an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion

before i start ill let you know i did a search and did not find exactly what im looking for. Im putting an h23a1 with an obd2 into a 95 cx hatch and i need a conversion harness for the ecu. i was told it may be easier to convert the h23a1 to obd2. after some searching i found skunk2 offers a harness for the 96-99 preludes (the h23a1 came out of a 96) that when combined with an obd1 ecu will convert the h23a1 to obd1. will this be all ill need to put the motor into the hatch? or will i then need another harness to connect to the skunk2 harness? sorry if im not being clear but this whole ECU stuff for my swap is really confusing me and no matter how much i research i dont feel like im getting anywhere. thanks.

I'd try to plug the H23A OBD2 engine harness into your Civic's underhod strut tower chassis harness plugs first. The OBD2 Integra engine harnesses plug directly into the 92-95 Civic's chassis harness, so the Prelude ones might too.

If not then I'm pretty sure you should be able to use your stock Civic's engine harness and add the EGR wiring, secondary butterfly wiring, etc.etc.

As far as the convesion harness goes, you won't need one anyways. Your ECU plugs in your car are already OBD1, so all you need to do is find an OBD1 H23A ECU and plug it in. This way you won't have to wire up OBD2 bullshit such as crank fluctuation sensor, secondary o2 sensor, etc.

Check out the stickied H22A swap topic in hybrid - it'll tell you all sorts of good **** that will aplly to the H23A swap.

It wil not work, I have tried (even modding it). It is a total different harness.

He will still have to convert it to H22a style Alt. and all the other extends for a h-series motor. Reuse your stock civic harness, it is easier (it does not look it but it is)

it is not hard at all. You just have to run wires to it.

What you do not understand? I maybe able to help you.
