Default B16a2 running rich, fouling plugs, etc.

I am wanting some information on a problem I have. I had a JDM B16 motor, blew HG, spun rod bearing. I swapped the short block for a used 2000 Si motor, using old head. The head was checked for scoring, wear, etc. A new HG was used, but mostly all old gaskets were used, if that helps. Car is inernally all stock.

The car runs rich, enough to smoke out the muffler. It may or may not be oil. I've replaced spark plugs, which fouled. I replaced O2 sensor, which was covered in carbon. I have adjustable fpr, which I tried lowering fuel pressure to, yes, 20psi with vac. It seemed to help the smoke, but really not much. The car is previously turbo, so I still have a wideband. Cruising is around 14.7, which I believe is good. From down low, full throttle, car gets significantly rich, going from high 13 to low 12's. This is all high rpm. Full throttle at a lower rpm (read no veetack) theres no smoke.

Any ideas would be useful.

Cliffs:
Swapped stock block with another.
Car smokes at high rpm.
Car didn't smoke before swap.
Wideband shows rich mixture.
I can write in the soot on the back of car. Do I win?

Edit: Car is loosing a bit of oil. It may be the cause. But where could it be coming from? I just want some ideas for what to look for when I tear it apart...again.

Update: Changed plugs again!

Fuel usually comes out as black smoke. Which ecu are you running?

Thanks for the response.

Factory B16 computer, came with the swap from HMO. Everything is stock, except fpr and intake. These were on the car before it tore up, and no smoke. But before, there was some oil loss, burning maybe, but nowhere near as bad as now. I checked after about a week (I should have checked more often...) and the stick was dry..

Just wondering what I should be looking at. Head has some miles on it, bottom end it (supposed) to be less than 100,000.

Loosing oil if not externally could be either rings or valve stem seals. Have you tried a leak down test? Cruising at 14.7 AFR is normal. high 13's to low 12's at WOT are nearly normal as well. Shouldnt be enough to foul out your spark plugs.

I do need to do a leak down test. Could the oil burning in the cylinder foul plugs?

yes ^^ if too much oil is passing through to the combustion chamber, you can foul the plugs.

But you said the oil level stays the same, so you cant be burning that much oil.

What ecu ? you said factory . so is it a OBD1 P30 ? , are you throwing any codes, if so wich ones, if not.

then do your compression and lead down test and get back to us.

Yeah, I thought oil level was staying the same, but after checking the other day it was low. It is OBD1, I guess its a P30. No codes though.

Updated first post with pics of plugs. I only got 3, had to use PB blaster on the 4th. It was stuck, lol. Oil again was low. I haven't had a chance to do a leak down test...
