92 Civic Si - too lean/rich problem
I have a 1992 si hatchback,
I have been told that it is running either too rich or too lean,
can anyone describe the difference in both so I know which one it is exactly,
and can someone tell me how to get it fixed? I heard a retune, but could it be adjusted or something? help me out a little will ya?

more detail.
is the car stock?
do you have the o2 sensor in?
are you running proper fuel?
check the spark plugs to see if they are black (rich) and you can usualy smell it if your running real rich.
your o2 sensor should correct the AFR though.

your burning oil?..
there is your problem.
your spark plugs are prolly oily. and not providing good spark.
compression is low because of oil consumption.
you need new piston rings.......................................

Burning oil could be the problem. Definitely inspect the spark plugs. Posting pictures would be helpful. The appearance of the spark plugs will likely answer the question of rich versus lean.
Is your gas mileage low?
What color is the exhaust smoke? In general:
Blue = oil
Black = fuel (rich)
White = coolant
Are there any CEL codes?
When was your last ignition system tune up?

Yeah, burns oil.
car smokes when I start it, smoke is mostly white/greyish. does leave black smog on my rear bumper,
last I checked my plugs were before I replace the valve gasket, oil was leaking into the plugs I believe,
2 out of 4 of the old spark plugs had oil on them.
I dont know exactly how many miles are on the engine, old owner told me 160k, but i doubt that.
so I should replace piston rings? would it be worth it to my motor since its kinda old.
