Default How are my plugs? Pics

I changed my plugs and plug wires recently because my car was smoking (black smoke) when at high rpms (BTW, the car still smokes at high rpm). I am pretty sure these are the plugs from the factory. 133k miles.

How do they look?

Motor is a stock b16a2. 133k miles. I showed a mechanic friend of mine and he said they looked pretty good for 133k miles. My car still makes black smoke at high rpms.

how could they be the stock plugs? Honda uses NGK from the factory and those are Denso.

you can see that the plug on the left is black at the tip which means its running richer in that cylinder. All the rest of them have white tips.

they are all lean, the one on the left is just less lean. its not black or any sign of being rich.

also look at the silver on the left plug its not silver. looks like someone replaced the right 3 and not the one on the left. why else would it b so dirty and not shinny silver like the other 3 ( the parts not inside the motor ) something isnt right with this

no it just looks like the Motor is running richer in that cylinder. Possibly due to a faulty fuel injector or dirty fuel injectors that arent all flowing the same.

ur not getting it. look at the whole plug like even where the socket fits on the SILVER is diff. color than the rest has nothing to do with inside the motor. now that makes me believe he needs new o rings in the valve cover

ya ur right. its possible that they only replaced 3(wtf) or his valve cover seal was leaking in that cyl.

my thoughts exactly, honda uses ngk for sure but they actually list both ngk and denso in the owners manual but I always run ngk's cause denso's are pretty much crap.

What is the best thing to do to clean the fuel injectors? Any certain product? How about one of those gas additives?

How can I determne if the dizzy is turned to too advanced? I don't have a timing light.

Techron is the best for cleaning the fuel system. Go pick some up at your local autoparts store and fill up with Chevron at the same time (if Chevron is available around you)
