TODAY AT ONE POINT IT KEPT SHUTTING OFF.. I WILL TURN IT BACK ON AND 5 MINUTES LATER IT WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN.. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT HAS NO POWER.. NO ACCELERATION.. IT STILL TURNS OFF.. PLEASE HELP.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Yeah check the codes..Im going to say right now its probably the Iginition switch happend to me in my 94 Ej1.

I JUST CHEKED THE CEL CODES.. ITS THROWING : 5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor .. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Probably bad sensor. It could be that easy.

 

It means your map is bad and you need a new Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor.

Before you replace the MAP sensor, first try cleaning it.

 

yeah he could clean it but you dont know how long its gonna last after that, prolly the best idea is to just replace it

 

A dirty MAP sensor is like a dirty IACV. After cleaning it should be fine.
