Bottom End/Balancing question
I have a 96 gsr motor and machine shop bored it out to 81.5mm. i got wiseco pistons and eagle rods for it. new honda bearings, stock crank, just polished. ctr cams, cometic hg, mild port/polish on head. and a drag turbo kit. the machine shop recommends i have the crank balanced because of the aftermarket rods. i am a bit tight on cash as i spent some money on all new parts and i was wondering when you guys do your builds do you just put in your rods in you used aftermarket and how bad is it if i dont have it balanced?
Why half *** it? you have it all apart and at the machine shop why not just have it balanced, its not very much money, if you cant afford to balance it then you should be building it, I would and am bringing everything I can when I have my block machined and balanced including the crank, rods, pistons, Harmonic Balance, flywheel, and clutch, Unless you dont care about how long your build lasts or how it runs,
Up to you but why risk it?

ive built quite a few setups, unless you plan on revving it to 11k and making 700hp i wouldnt worry about it, just make sure your cranks bearing surfaces are polished
