Re: Question about balance crank
Balancing involves more then balancing the crank to the bobweight.
A good shop will match the pistons and rods as well . . . it's absolutely worth the time to balance any rotating assembly, especially when it's mixed and matched sets from a catalog.

get your clutch and flywheel balanced at the same time.My comp clutch 8.8 lbs flywheel was 14 gram out of balance. My oem crank was almost dead on on the machine.

Re: Question about balance crank
We balance cranks on all engines we build. They are close but never perfect and I would say we have to take weight off 98 out of 100 cranks to make them perfect. Pistons and rods are important to balance as well. a gram of weight spinning at 9000rpm makes a big difference. Be careful not to balance the clutch on the crankshaft because you will be stuck with the clutch for life or your engine will be out of balance.
