ok so i am about to pick up a b18a but the only problem is it needs valves and its an obd1.. can any one tell me what i need to do to get this b18a into my ej8.. i just want some thing a little better than my y8

buy a obd2 to obd1 jumper harness-80 bucks.. get a obd1 ecu from a integra or a chipped ecu and your problems are solved.. get rid of that obd2..

 

but will that work to put the motor in can i use a b18b wiring harness on a b18a????

yes.. just take your motor out. put the new one in. and hook everything up. you can use your engine harness or use your b18b engine harness.

 

just use your engine harness from your y8. there will be some extra plugs do to you are converting to obd1 and a non vtec motor..dont worry about the extra plugs. the obd1 ecu wont know there not hooked up. you'll be fine.

 

sweet thanks guys.. im just trying to see how hard its gonna be.. this is just a temp motor. untill i have the money for a vtec swap.. im broke but i just want some thing faster.. a bit faster at least.
