Default obd conversion

quick question say if i have an obd1 integra with obd 2 motor.. it wont work right.. because the harness plugs that goes to the ecu are different.,.

if i tried obd2 integra with obd1 motor why won't it work.. if i used an obd1 computer along with obd1 motor..

something is confusing me here..

well obviously, obd1 engines need obd1 ecus, obd2 engines need obd2 ecus, unless you have a conversion harness.

an obd2 car will have a different wiring harness as well as extra sensors that wouldn't be used on an obd1 car. it could probably work, but my guess is youd have to cut and splice some wiring.

Any gsr OBD1 or OBD2 harness should plug in to a gsr or ( EG civic ). Yes you can put a OBD2 gsr motor in to an OBD1 car. I know this because I have a OBD2 gsr harness in my 93 civic that is being run off a OBD1 ecu. You also can use a OBD1 motor in a OBD2 car, you will just have to change the dizzy, injectors, alternator, to OBD2, and you will have to add some censors like crank shaft position censor ect ect.

another thing to consider:

OBD1 = less engine lights going off
OBD2 = more engine lights going off

We had a customer bring in an ebay kit, it was wired wrong and cause the car to throw codes, to ebay wiring harness.

We installed it, so it was installed correctly. And I knew it was the wiring harness because I swapped it out with a rywire ( cause we stock them ) and it fixed the problem.

you can use an obd2 motor in an obd1 chassis
you can use an obd1 motor in an obd2 chassis in both cases u use can use the same harness that came with the chassis. so you don't convert the harness you convert the ecu. but only for the obd2 chassis will you convert it to obd1 becaus if you have an obd1 chassis then you are already obd1 . u want obd1 for performance reasons. you need to be more specific. what is it that you are doing? are you pulling a swap? if so what chassis, what motor, what year motor, and what year chassis?

88-91=obd0
92-95=obd1
96-98=obd2
99-2000=obd2a as far as honda/acura is concerned
