Default SHE GONE!! What to do.......

94 sohc. I believe its the d15b7 motor. I think i blew timing belt. While i have the motor apart. Is there anything i should do to maybe get a little more performance out of her? Not to sure the condition of the head yet. Have to get her towed over to the shop on Monday. Do i do a better head? Better cam? Im open for suggestions. She is a daily driver and i do want to keep her reliable. Any help would be great. thanks in advance.oh yeah she just turned 187k miles, lol.

Blew timing belt on a d15b7?

Yeah, it's time to head swap. Isn't the b7 like the 70hp engine? A y8 or z6 head should get you to 120hp without too much problem.

id like enough power to get the car out of its own way. The motor is rated for about 100 hp.

Really? I could toss one of those heads on it? I would love to get some extra horsepower. Are those heads readily avaliable?

yes, they're readily available all over junkyards or hondamarketplace.

It's not quite as simple as just swapping the head though. It'll physically fit, but there's other stuff you'll need. Definitely need a vtec computer, and to add wiring for vtec. You won't get the full amount of power out of it without y8 intake and exhaust manifolds. The b7 stuff will work, but not the best.

Also, the y8/z6 transmission is geared a lot shorter, and swapping that will benefit quite a bit.

Your best bet might be to watch hondamarketplace for a complete swap. I've seen y8s go for like $300 before. If you just want the head and intake manifold, I've seen those go for $100-150. Transmission might be about that much too.

I thought that my motor has vtec? Ill check the marketplace to see if they have a complete swap. So id need the Y8 head, intake and exhaust manifolds, vtec computer with wiring. Can you tell me a little more about the wiring? sorry for the newbie questions. This is my first time messing with a motor swap situation.
im not to worried about the trans actually. It is a daily driver and i do put a ton of miles on so the taller gear will actually really help with the gas mileage too. However the gas mileage is more a bonus and i can sacrifice some of that for a little better performance.
