Default D16Z6 Build Q's?

Ok i have a stock z6 with exception of: Sri w/ velocity stack,dc header, catback, light flywheel. Im thinking of purchasing a cam. Since i have never done such a mod and would love to try it out. Im also planning on SC it later next year.(JRSC). So im looking on ebay for cams andthere are 2

Zex cam 59100 and Zex cam 59300. I would really not want to upgrade my valves but still have more kick from a cam. I believe the 59300 i would have to upgrade my valvetrain. As opposed to the 59100. Si iwas thinking of getting the 59100, but would it really be worth it? And would it affect my SC plan i have for future? Would it affect it for better or for worst? Thanx for any advice or input.

You're really limiting yourself by not changing the valvesprings, you don't necessarily need Ti retainers, a set of springs is only like 150, then you can actually run a cam that's worth spending money on.

Well...im only looking for a little more pep. Thats all. Thats why i was thinking of getting the zex59100. Cuz where im really gonna get some hp is the supercharger. Plus its my DD and i drive in my car all day. I deliver Videos in the making for the film studios. So i also dont want a loud as car.. thats gonna eat too much gas. Thats why 250.00 for just a cam isnt bad. Then ill spen about 600 or 1k on my SC depending on the deal i find later. All im looking for is a little more pep(FUN) while i get my JRSC.

go with the 59300 without a doubt. Its not gonna eat gas or anything so long as its tuned well. On d-series.org rrussel tuned his del sol to 70.2 MPGs with a greddy turbo kit on a vitara/eagle z6 with a 59300 cam so obv. thats not an issue. Just get the springs and use the better cam for the same price

I'd def put bisimoto's springs on the top of the market and at 150 not to big a dent in your budget

Without a doubt. Bisi gets as much (or more) power out of D motors as anyone. Also, he is a really nice guy and will take the time to talk to you about what is best for your motor.
