Default Unplug VSS

If I unplug VSS will I lose the rev limiter? Is there any way to lose a rev limiter on the stock setup. Or just buy a dang ol' p28? Will a p28 board fit in the p06 case?

if you unplug your vss, you lose your speedo, and your vtec.

If you unplug the VSS you will throw a code. and the car won't be happy.

There is no way to loose the rev limiter without reprogramming the ECU.

unplug VSS = no speedo, no odometer, no vtec (if equipped)

rev limiter remains, that is controlled by rpm and regulated by ecu

hmmm...will the ecu still allow vtec to engage while throwing a vss code? prolly not...but I have never done it.

Default p28

Won't a p28 go into default plugged into a d15, run normal, compatible fuel and timing maps, but have a higher rev limit?

never really looked at the wiring that seriously, but it would seem logical that a VAFC would actuate vtec regardless of what the ecu does....hmmm, might have to jack the VSS on my car and go for a spin.

D15B7 -- raise the rev limiter. Not for performance (really). When autocrossing my 20 inch tall slicks limit my speed to about 57mph. I'm smackin hard on the limiter for a long time on the longer straights. Shifting is not the answer.

well anything that would safely raise the rev limit for that motor is probably gonna be more $$ than is worth spending on it. and the length of time you gain in each gear would not be worth it either.

Running on the limiter without gas is not good.
