Whats better?
I have a EG that i put a JDM D15 VTEC into. My stock ECU is chipped to advance timing and remapped fuel, as well as remove rev and speed limiter. Obviously it isnt for a VTEC engine.
However, for the cost of buying a p28, or maybe a little more i should say, I could get an MSD rpm switch, and have basically a vtec controller.
So, Chipped p04 ecu with advanced timing, more aggressive fuel map, no rev limiter, no speed limiter, and basically a vtec controller, or should i just put a p28 on it? What are the drawbacks of keeping the non-vtec ecu with the hardwired vtec controller, if any? Also, I will be putting a turbo in a couple of months, should this weigh into this decision at all?

Re: Whats better? (d15singlecammer)
I actually have a p08, the problem is I had to use the harness off the my old engine, and the exhaust manifold. The p08 is giving me a CEL because of the o2 sensor. The o2 normally on the p08 has only one wire to it, mine has 4 wires to it.

Honsetly man in my opinion you should be fine with a vafc for now. i mean you can boost on it too but dont expect to tune like you would with hondata. i would recomend getting something like that if your going turbo. just my 2 cents.

For some odd reason I thought you had a CX, my bad. Trade your P08 for a P28 to get rid of your CEL, Good Luck.

if your d15 is pretty much stock i'd get a p28. if you have a lot of local junkyards in your area you can pick em up for as cheap as $20 if you're lucky.
i just don't see any real benefits from runnin' a chipped p04 with a stock car (even if it is for the VTEC).
