SO Yesterday I went to a muffler shop and about 2 feet of piping off of the exhaust after the test pipe. It was a crappy 2.5 in crush bent with a twin loop muffler on there. I asked my tuner if it was ok to drive around it said it was ok and I will be bringing it back to him to get a retune this weekend. And when I was about to drive the car onto the lift radiator fluid started to spill out everywhere from a house, we looked under and it was a hose, weird thing is that it just stopped after a min. and I still have fluid in there anything know why? I like the sound of the open down pipe too, hearing the turbo spool. When my car was idling I went back and I could feel air coming from my muffler. Should I get a dump made. When I had my car dyno, there was no filter on it at all and I got 220whp but afterwards we clamped on a piece of old filter on it. And I have been reading that it robs power and chokes the turbo., I have room to make a intake for it so ill probably make that? So my questions are….

Will I see a power gain from a open down pipe?.
I have a 18g turbo ls 12 psi making 220whp

Should I have a dump made pointed out?

What is up with that hose?

Will I gain power back if I took off the mesh and put a filter?
And what brand of filter should I get. I was just thinking of KN

And me and my friend with a s2000 tested out my car…. He gets me by about 2 cars, hes car is stock. With the numbers I make shouldn’t it be closer? Btw dyno was on a dyno dynamic.

 

Yes you should see power from Open DP

Also put on a dump tube, Unless you want your turbo sucking up hot exhaust gas

 

its cut off right after the test pipe. you think the turbo will still suck it up:?

 

Get a cutout. Best of both worlds. I just have a manual one I got from summit for about $25; take it off when I race, and the rest is a 3" exhaust with 2 resonators and a vibrant, perfect volume.

I made 254whp with the same turbo at 12 psi, but I had an upgraded elbow.
