made an exhaust for my quad.
so ive got an 06 kawi bayou and since i dont have a car to do anything to i thought i would look into the performance stuff for my quad. well being that its a 250 untility quad there isnt much in the after market world for it, actually i couldnt find anything. so i had the correct material laying around and started thinking, i can make a pipe for it. well i looked at my neibors trx450r for ideas on a pipe. its stepped like 4 times so i figured what the hell why not. so i made a tripple step pipe. it starts at 1 3/8" at the head, then goes to 1 /12" then to 1 5/8" and then to 1 3/4" shortly before going into the muffler. the muffler is a 3" OD with a drilled center tube that i packed with steel wool. it works rather ell. my buddy said it sounds like a 450r with a pipe kit now. while i had the panals and **** off i also threw a nice 3" k&n filter in it. its def faster no thats for sure.

Re: made an exhaust for my quad.
Thanks and yes there was def a gain. I have 2 of these quads (one after the other in terms on vin #'s) and when my bro rides the other one we always will race or what not when we are out riding and he would always pull on me being that I weigh almost 100 lbs more then him. Wel now with the intake and exhaust on mine I pull him like he use to pull me. U can also just feel the difference in general. Its got a lot more get up and go.

Re: made an exhaust for my quad.
i used the old clamp and wedges but the pipe is all new. for the end that gets pressed up against the head i slipped a 1/2" section of 1 1/2" tube over the primary 1 3/8" tube and welded it on the sealing side. then sanded the weld down flat so it would seal against the gasket.
