Default To add a resonator or not add a resonator, THAT is the question

heres the shibby...

recently installed 3" test pipe / SS kteller exhaust / muffler with a 2.5" downpipe. running roughly 7-9psi on a 60trim t3...not bad for a little bugger.

will putting a resonator make a noticiable loss in power? It is EXTREMELY loud..i thought i would be ok, i thought the turbo would quiet it down a little bit but the two hour drive up adn back made up my mind that it was too loud for me. i tried putting in the silencer and it helped a little, but still reverberated everything in the car... not to mention killed my spool up time.

just curious on everyones thoughts, if you know a place to pick them up somewhat inexpensive. on a few friends exhausts setups they'd run glasspacks (as resonators )from autozone for like $20 and they sounded pretty good, do those buggers come in a three inch or do i need something a little better?

Toss a nice long (24"+) stright-through bullet type muffler on there. They are only a couple inches bigger in diamter than the pipe, and they are drilled core for little to no restriction. It WILL make a good difference in volume.

I wouldn't run an Autozone glaspack, because I think those are louvered core.

From my experience, my 3" downpipe, straight pipe, and resonator has about the same noise level as my 2.5" downpipe, 3" carsound, no resonator.

Magnaflow universal fit round mufflers. They also carry Dynomax ones.
