Default Will a y8 block work

I got a 1993 Honda Civic EX . The block is junk but the head and etc is good. Can I put the z6 head on a y8 block . What all would I need? z6 or y8 head studs? I can use my z6 dizzy and the whole top end correct. Please fill me in.

correcto mundo on the head will work on the y8 block but as to the studs im not sure. i would think that either one will work but check the deck heights on both and see which ones you need.

0 0K!!! sorry man its late. i get you now. ok the d16y8 block and d16z6 block are exactly the same except the y8 block sux because their prone to spinning rod bearings. but is still a good block just z6 is better.

Ok, their exactly the same man, so you gonna put a d16y8 block in it will bolt right up with your z6 tranny and all and the head if your putting a z6 head on just use the original z6 head bolts. the y8 head bolts are way shorter and will not work.

Good Luck!

A quart low all the time would be my guess, given the situation with his engine block being screwy. :-)
