How do I no what headgasket to get on a swap?

Do I get a the headgasket for the block or the head.

Its for the block i think...as long as you don't have any over size piston or else your goin to have to get a custom one. Oh and why would you put a z6 head on a y8? its the same unless the z6 head was built.

I think the Y8 one is cheaper, and a little thinner, or something.

Why are you putting the Z6 head on a Y8? That's the worse head and block of the two motors. Z6 head has lower compression and lacks quench pads and the Y8 block has a poorer oiling system.
