lost motion assembly
hi guys, if i don't change the lost motion assembly because of noise will it affect anything
how excactly do u check to see if they are still good
i change them out to another used set and still that ticking noise but when u rev it it goes away, its loud at idle?

i think it's the lma cause i put another used set in it but with the same noise , i will get the newer version ones with the spring for the lma
besides feeling their movement to be smooth all through its stroke, you can rev the engine to at least 3k rpms, listen to the bad sound; give the vtec solenoid 12v to engage vtec. see if noise stops
I had the same problem, too. First, I thought it'll be the valve clearance issue, so I adjusted my valve lash. But, the valves were quiet. Then, I end up opening it again. Then, I checked the lost motion, it was pretty loose, so I took my extra set from my other head. Put it back, adjusted the valve lash again, and the noise was gone.
