Tourque Mounts
So i've been thinking about some cars i've seen around with no tourque mounts , and im planning on buying some hasport's or innovative mounts , is it safe to take them out?
I know that , but im wondering how is it that theres a lot of car's out there without them , dont they drive their cars or what
i have avid full race mounts (black inserts) and im not running torque mounts cause the mounts are strong/stiff enough that the torque mounts really dont do anything.. it all depends on your set up if your just getting street/strip mounts keep the torque mounts there but if your gettine straight strip mounts you dont really need them
+ i blew my Left upper motor mount twice before putting them on
i put my right torque mount on and it made a world of difference, go figure lol

did he really shift 9k all day?!?! musta been a spoon motor...
...that or they improperly torqued the tranny bolts. idiot.
two is engine location... alot of aftermarket kits put the engine in a slightly different location than the factory would've.. so they won't line up.
either way with aftermarket mounts... ditch'em

yeah there is a few reasons behind this. one is they are much stiffer. the 3 hasport mounts are 30000% stiffer than all 5 factory mounts.

the torque mounts are there for a reason
a. to keep the engine from torquing (obviously)
b. to keep the engine from entering the passenger compartment in the event of a crash
you should always run torque mounts regarless if you have aftermarket mounts or not

i had innovative mounts in my last swap and no torque mounts caused i believe my friend it wasnt going to be bad....and i ended up snapping the bracket off the motor on the driver side...it was smoking anyways but still always use your torque mounts...now i got b20 and torque mounts were the first to back on along with inserts.....
