my b16 turbo set up.. am i on the right track to my goal?
hey guys. im wondering if anybody on here could maybe point out any flaws in my setup or think there is anything i should change before i get this stuff installed an tuned.. i have all these parts already an will be getting installed here shortly.. my goal is 350whp and if i dont get 350, i definitly want at least 300.. (im not asking how much this setup will make, im just asking if im capable of my goal, an if not why so i can reach my goal.. unless i need a new bottom end rebuild)
b16a longblock motor.. (230 compression in all 4 cylinders)
aftermarket valves, springs, retainers
gsr cams (i have buddy club spec 3's in the car but im assuming GSR's would be the better option)
skunk2 intake manifold
buddy club cam gears
peakboost FTW turbo kit, t3/t4 57 trim .63 A/R
walbro 255lph
precision 880cc injectors
turbosmart dual stage boost controller
competition stage 5 clutch
ARP Headstuds
Thermal 3 inch exhaust
and other misc parts that go along with it, but dont really matter too much to power.. but for the most part thats the main part of my setup, stock bottom end b16a.. i really want 350whp on my high boost setting.. i was feeling very confident i could reach that if not then close to that, until the other day i ran into a guy who was saying i will never reach that on a stock block, that the rods will snap at 250whp. but ive seen other people reach way more then 250whp on stock internals

poeple make well over 300whp on stock b16 with arp's and gsr cams. i think ur goal is well obtainable if u want. but u just better spend the money and have a great tuner do his thing with it. I would also look into a lsd if funds are good. so tell that guy that said b16's cant make more than 250whp before the rods snap to go pack sand. good luck with ur setup. Also what kind of gas u using.
I would expect to see more than 300whp with that setup. More like 350whp with the stock rods and pistons. A good tune is the key to big power and engine life.
300 sounds safe. but if ur lookin to get good time i think 300to the wheels is good enough and it sounds safer. get some suspension/traction bars, lsd, slicks ect... idk if u can put some arp rod bolts. all that power with no traction whon't do ****...
theres a thread running around ht that has the highest hp on stock motors. There b16s on there making well over 500 with all stock bottom ends. Search highest hp on stock motor or something like that. its pretty interesting

and to the other people .. someone said suspension, traction bar an slicks.. i have full suspension, full race traction bar, and ill be running drag radials at first until i get used to the car
the guy that said stage 5 is too much.. i agree, but i got a deal, brand new CC stage 5 clutch, arp head studs for b16, and hondata map sensor an gsr cams for 390, in my eyes it was a steal.. could not turn down that deal..
im very happy i will reach my goal.. thanks guys.. when i get it tuned in a few months/this spring i will post my results..
well i noticed in your signature you have j-k-tuning.com.. well john is tuning my car, he already has once on motor...
