b16 turbo build
Ok, so I have a B16 that has been built up for all motor. Civic type r pistons, stage 2 cams, dual valve springs, Ti retainers. Cam gears, V-AFC, Chipped P28.
Now I want to build the motor for turbo and I am wondering what I already have that I can still use. I want to upgrade the rods and I am thinking of getting some new pistons at about a 8.0:1 or 9.0:1 compression ratio, as I would like to be able to up the boost. I also am going to have the block sleeved and balanced once I have the parts and send it off.
Is it ok to use the stage 2 cams that I have with a turbo set up? I am guess with turbo all the other parts will benifit the set up.
My poewr goals are I would like to be able to boost up to get 400whp if I want to, but I want to be able to do it safely.
Also any suggestions on what turbo i should look into? Brand? Size?
Thanks for any help guys. The whole boost thing is so new to me but I am really getting excited about starting to buy things I will need for the set up.

Re: b16 turbo build (sean7001)
i going to be running 9.5.1 compression on my b16 it is safe and well spool little faster. look at sc61 or gt35 gt35r well do what you wont for now and is capable of pushing around 650hp for when 400hp is not cutting any more

Which 'stage 2' cams are you running? Specs?
A 60 trim t3/t04e turbo would do it for you... The sc44 turbo would get you to your goals but I would probably just go with the sc61 as mentioned already.

I have skunk 2 stage 2 cams
Lift Int/Lift Ehx-.485/.466
Dur Int/Dur Ehx-266/262
Those are the specs of the cams I am currently running.
Ok, so I read an article explaing the trim number but I still don't get it? Can someone explain it to me in retard, I know nothing about the turbos internals, kind of explaination. Does the higher trim # dictate how fast spool up time will be? Also, what exactley does t3/t04e or sc44 or sc61 mean. Those numbers and letters have to stand for something.
Also, the compression ratio. Does it really matter since I will be getting the block sleeved and will have aftermarket rods and pistons? From my understanding I will be able to boost more with lower compression. Am I correct in thinking that?
Thanks again guys.

Do you think it would benifit to run the stage 2 intake cam allong with the stock exhaust cam? Create more backpressure before turbo to help it spool? Just a theory I have brewin in my brain.
