Icon2 D16y8 head on d16z6 block??!!!!!!!!

my friend has a z6 block and y8 head and wants to put it together, our question is what kind of head studs would we need to make this work? thanks!

9 Z6 head studs and 1 '96-'00 Civic D-series head stud. The 1 head stud goes where the VTEC solenoid is.

i need to know this too...did i make a mistake because a y8 head is on its way for my z6 block....there's not much info on this setup..any help would be great...on this issue..

This is my same setup now. 9 Z6's head studs and 1 y8 head stud where the v tec solyn goes. d16y8 head gasket and z6 timing belt and it runns good just a little funny because the cam gear are different. the y8 cam gear is 1/2 tooth smaller and so i need the put my z6 cam gear on the y8 cam and it should run perfect. as for v tec i think it cracks open harder than my z6 head.

are the internals the same on these heads? Cause i need parts of the rocker assembly for my z6 but i can only find a y8 head

Why not look for a used Z6 head? I'm sure someone here has one <cough cough>

no i think the head internals are different but you can interchange parts like the cam and valves

you can call arp and have a custom set made for that set up

Will all the sensors on d16y8 block work for z6 block. Just bought z6 block and seeing if it will be plug and play for the z6 block with y8 head the car is obd2 so I'm good there for the head part.
