Default cooling fan switch connector bad???

has anyone had this problem b4?? where their cooling fan switch connector has bad contact??
this is a 95 del sol base model that im working for my friend.
he's cooling fan wasnt coming on so i checked the switch with a dvom and its getting signal and doing its job. we then piggy back the switch to the connector and the fan came on.
im just wondering if n e one else had this problem b4?
the fuses are good, relay is good, ground's good. switch is good.
its the connector from the engine harness to cooling fan switch in thermo-stat housing.

It could be the wiring too, I had a similar problem and it turned out the wiring was bad so it was bypassed and now the car does not overheat.

Bad terminal tension is a common cause for electrical failures. How did the connector look on the inside?

It could also be a broken wire between the switch and connector.

Curious - how did you test the switch?
There isn't much to a connector. If it's not making contact then you should be able to get in there with a tiny screwdriver and pry on the metal to create a better contact.
I would try OHMing the connector out as the wiring may have broke internally.

we used jumper wires to extend it out from the switch then plug it into the harness connector, thats how i know the switch is good. *fan came on when i did this*
we aslo did ohm test on it .003 when motor was hot. which tells me its working *according to allData*
so why i'm asking have n e one else had this problem b4??
i've owned 4 civic's b4 and never have i had this problem b4 so is it just my luck to come across this??

I had an issue with the plug getting old and it would not stay connected... It plugged in and snapped into place but it was wiggly and wouldn't always make good contact. I just went to the salvage yard and got a switch from a newer integra and used that. Not sure if your problem is similiar but made me think back to when I had an issue like that.

Good glad I could be of assistance... Please let me know how it turns out. I pulled mine off of a grey plug integra and it hasn't been a bother since then. Good luck... Make sure you solder though because butt connectors look like duke under the hood.
