Icon4 milkshake on valve cover cap

hey guys i just did an ls/vtec swap on my car and im getting milshake on the valve cover cap but not on the bottom...my major concer is if the heads crack or leak on the head gasket.....
so far all ive done is do a compression test... the compression is 210 on all 4 cylinder i cranked it 5 times.....and so what else could it be i also dont have a breather chamber installed would that have anyting to do with it cause i read online that breather chambers are suppose to eliminate the vapors that are rising up to the head

a milkshake type of build up in either the oil or coolant would be a mix of the two, most likely from the headgasket. you might want to check the coolant and see how that looks. alot of times on ls/vtec builds, the plug in the head doesnt get smoothed out properly and makes the head sit up a little bit and doesnt allow the head gasket to seal properly.

the hole in the bottom of the block is where the black box connects to and then to the nipple up higher. then the pcv on the top of the black box is run to a port on the intake manifold. the way you have it set up now, you are probably burning some oil. i would reconnect it the way it's supposed to be.

could just be some condinsation on the cap. is there alot? maybe take some pics. the other thing you could do is a leakdown test and listen to where the air is coming from (oil fill, radiator,...)

what he said...the plug is a common problem if not tightend all the way so that it doesnt stick out...i had this problem with my b20vtec while having good compression all across and going through a shyt load of hg's..

im having the same problem...had water in my coolant system and degrees went below zero..freaking h20 froze on me so i had to drain it out and put it coolant in it...after that i drove for about half a mile and had a little mixture on my oil cap....im praying its not my hg....but then again what you guys where saying, i didnt drive it for a few days in the freezing weather so im hoping thats the problem...but in his case if its alot then its either the plug or hg....could also be coolant line plugged in wrong...

That hole on the bottom comes capped or not opened up like that from the factory. I just got a block like this for the first time. I have never seen that before!

If it's snowing outside or there's heavy rain, the vanilla shake or chocolate milk under the cap is normal.

I see it a lot when doing oil changes during the colder months of the year and the oil hasn't gotten warm enough to vaporize all the condensation. Don't worry about it.

NO, non breather box ls engines are obd2 ....I just got one from GE and it has the vin plate on the front, does yours?...., my 95 obd1 had a breather box, my newer one from GE does not...BTW thats just condesation if its only on your cap, nothing to get too anxious about....if it worries you, just put a catch can off the front of the valve cover
