is it okay to drill the turbine housing out to accept the 1/2" studs ?? anyone done this ?

If you're not disassembling the turbo prior, I would try to stop shavings from going anywhere...

Its a cast iron housing, you can pretty much do what you want. Take the turbine side off the rest of the turbo to avoid foreign debris getting into it. Other than that, you should be in business...

Just make sure the holes aren't enlarged too much that the nut doesn't have enough area to get a positive grip on... Last thing you want is to convert to allen bolts and remove all those 1/2" studs...

I think he is saying dont make the holes too large....

make sure there is enough room on the nut side of the housing for you to tighten it all the way down, a 1/2" bolt has a pretty large nut......
