Default $5000..... Need a turbo setup...

I'm a Honda-Tech newbie in need of some help!

I have been saving for quite a while, and I am finally ready to turbo my teg. I have a GSR Motor with Type R internals. I have $5000 for a turbo setup, and that is all. What can I get?

You can build a pretty nast *** set up for that, I would go drag and hondata of course and you would still have money left over for other things.

well...it really depends on what u do: if u wanna keep ac, if u want high boost, if u want to sacrifice streetability for speed. do a search ull find ure answers if u want to get a preasemled kit get the revhard 2c with a hondata and some bigger injectors and find a good tuner u might wanna think about changing ure internals cuz its harder to tune a higher compression motor with turbo but it can b done

You should at least replace your piston rings, and if you have the right fuel mixture you can run stock internals with no prob.

$1200...: T3/T4 turbo (ball bearing)
$50-75..: Custom 2.5 inch piping
$240.....: Tial wastegate
$200.....: not sure what's the best bov (maybe a greddy?)
$80.......: turboxs mbc
$1250....: Hondata 4b or AEM
$400.....: Revhard manifold
$250.....: down pipe (not sure how much these cost
$250.....: 440 injectors
$12.......: sparkplugs
$100.....: fittings/braided lines/etc.
$300.....: Custom intercooler (I have a 28" 7x2 row intercooler with 2.5 inch inlet/outlet for sale)
$400.....: Tuning (4 hours)

TOTAL: $4757 (and you still have enough money for a lot of along the way!)

Did I miss anything?

That would definatly be a quick a$$ car if you put $5,000 into it!

I was actually thinking about getting in on that Importparts.com deal for the Drag 3 Kit since it is $2699.99 + shipping. I do not know enough about turbo where I can piece together a kit. I want a turbo kit where I can keep my Air Conditioning, and hit mid 13s, and just have fun. Do you think normal pieced together kit like Drag is more practical?

Get the drag3 kit from import parts and upgrade to tial wastegate. Sell the FMU and fuel pump and get a walbro intank pump, hondata, and 440-550 injectors. Get a ss oil return line too.

How does this sound:

$2699.99 ---- Drag 3 Kit
$150 --------- Tial Wastegate
$79 ----------- Greddy Turbo Timer
$566.10 ------ Apex'i AVC-R
$275 ---------- RC 440cc Injectors
$1250 -------- Hondata Stage 4b
$300 --------- Inline Pro Headgasket

Is there anything else I need besides tuning? I will be boosting 10lbs max

Thats alot of money for just 10 pounds...

Personally, I would buildup my engine before I got any type of forced Induction...

Unless your'e going to be tuning yourself, you don't need the 4b. Spend the extra 500 towards something else like a lsd. Turning becomes a different experience.

Why would you want a walbro in tank if your running stock fuel pressure?

Does anyone else think that ball bearing turbos are a waste of $$$ for our applications?

Depends on how you look at it really. If you want quicker spool up times, (important considering we have small engines that take a while to build boost) than they are waste of money.

wait, wouldnt that mean they aren't a waste of money? I thought ball bearing turbos spooled quicker? Did I just misunderstand you?
