hey guys, i fixin to turbo my 98 gsr. i would like to be be somewhat stelthy, i was thinking of spray painting my fmic and pipe flat black to make it stand out less. ive seen black fmic's i was wondering if i could jus hit mine with s. paint? will it heat soak sooner? is it a real world difference in performance[the addition of b. paint]? any thoughts??

any other good ideas to keep on the down low.....

I've had mine painted for years on my sleeper. The IATs still stay within acceptable range, so I don't worry about it. The only problem is that it has to be touched up every few months from rock chips. Anodizing would probably be a better solution for durability and better heat dissipation.

 

I use flat black radiator paint on FMICs all the time. Works great.
