Default TurboXS blow off problems.

Today i re-did the intercooler piping on my turbo ls i switched from a Greddy blow off to a TurboXS type-s. i didint change any of my vacccum lines and when i started it up and took it for a drive to make sure it still boosted fine and to make sure i wouldnt blow any couplers, i boosted about 5 pounds in second gear and and when in shifted into third the bov didnt open, the turbo just surged like crazy. i know i have it hooked up right. i'm not sure why it would cause the turbo to surge. it came with a bunch of washers to put in the blow off to stiffen the spring. but im sure it doesnt need to be stiffened.
Any input?

ya but he only has the normal spring it came with in the blow off. he didnt add washers.. thats the confusing thing. why wouldnt it release the pressure?

I had one, same problem. There for cars with high boost tho. I now have a hks and works fine with same vac source. The spring in the rfl is to hard. So run 20psi or get rid of it.
