single cam mini me swap wont pass inspection =[
i took my hatch to the local guy who does inspection n my car wont pass. the computer wont read the ecu and when he put the other ecu's in it came up vtec error. what do i do???? do i swap the mini me out n put in the stock head with the stock ecu??? i need some help lol
idk i bought the car n it already had the mini me swap. the car hits vtec n all n no light ever come on with the ecu but wen they hooked the car up the inspection thing it doesnt read the ecu thats in the car
i have a 97 dx hatch. the ecu in there is a 95 integra lsvtec dohc. i think its obd2 cuz its got the wiring harness n all.
that might be your problem, as far as honda's go, 92-95=obd1 and 96+ is obd2, what they did was prolly use a jumper harness so they could run an obd1 motor in an obd2 vehicle

ok i just did a search and a few things came up
in one post it says that you can use a piggyback system
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2272042
another option would be take your car and register it in a state that doesnt do IM testing
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1955682
other than that it doesnt look like theres any options
just a little advice: learn to use the search function it will become your best friend

If you still have your original ECU, drive around for 2-3 days and go for reinspection.
I have a b7/z6 mini-me, and it will fail horribly with a p28 ECU. With a p06, it passes by a large margin. I'm not sure if the same thing will work for your engine combination, but it's worth a try.

That would be best overall, but I'm not sure how it would be for passing an emissions test.

OBD-2 cars dont do emission tests anymore. They hook up the diagnostic port and make sure the computer says "Ready" They dont put the cars on the rollers anymore if they are obd-2.

Duh, No 96+ cars get tested under load.
Finding an OBDII P2P ECU would be my first attempt.
Second i would try a P2E ECU which is from a DX, It wont throw VTEC codes, The only thing is it might throw a code for Too rich/too lean cause the fuel maps are different.
I ran a P2E Ecu on my D16y8 motor for a little while and thats the only code it threw, And it wasnt even right away, sometimes it took almost a hundred miles. Im not sure of the Drive cycle though, how long it takes to get the ECU ready for the scan.
