at idle my EGT's read 950-1000 F. A/F is is around 14.5-14.8. timing is @ 16 deg.
can't seem to find the cause. the ony way it goes down is if I richen it up to around mid 11's to 12.0.

any help would be appreciated.

 

mine is higher than i'd like, but not as high as yours. maybe 450 C.

Advance your timing as you are getting an incomplete burn most likely.
