Default wastegate dumptube

do you connect the wastegate dumptube to the exhaust or just leave it open? doesnt this make to much noise since its from the exhaust manifold?

I've run open DP with both a 2.5" and 3" DP and couldnt stand it. I had a headache every time i drove my car...not to mention, my gf wouldn't ride with me because of the sound/smell. I love the smell of exhaust, but apparently, i'm the only one

Get a cam setup with less overlap.. haha

It'll still be loud as hell but you won't lose as much unburnt fuel.

open dumptube on the wastegate is loud when you start getting into full boost...but its a SICK sound. I havnt closed up any of my dumps simply more power and it sounds sick.

my open wastegate blows smelly exhaust air right into the cabin when i hit boost. its the way it faces it vents straight toward the driver seat. nuntheless, dumptube is going on today

If you can stand the sound, dont mind smelling like fuel, and want more power go open dump. If you want it quiet and dont mind sacrificing a few ponies go recirculated dump. I get crazy creep as it is with my 35R and recirc dump I cant imagine open.

I ran an open dump on my last setup for 3 years, kinda loud once it opened but it sounded real nice.

I like my cars quiet and under the radar, so my next one is gonna be recirculated

If you get crazy creep with a recirculated dump you would see less creep with an open dump. Think about it, gasses move on a pressure differential. Say you have 5 psi of backpressure in your exhaust post turbine, and 35 psi before hand. Flowing from the 35 PSI to the 5 PSI pipe you're working on a pressure differential of 30 psi. Flowing from the 35 psi to 0 psi (atmosphere), you're working on a greater pressure differential which lets the wastegate flow more, and should reduce boost creep.

gotta question bout that. I have my open, but its pretty short. I don't want to recirculate it with the exhaust b/c i know that will sacrifice a lot of ponies, but anyways I was wondering if i could run it with the exhaust and cut off after the door or behind the fender? Didn't know if running that long of a tube would make a big difference. Wondering how long some of yalls dumptubes are? just to get the smell and stanknis out of the cabin of the car and well b/c i get a headache and my g/f hates it.

just long enough to get the gases out of the engine bay.
