problem with vtec!!
hey guys, i just swapped an obd1 b18c into my coupe 95 dx and the vtec is just not working, i have manually hit it off before so i know the solenoid is good...but i connected the wires...green/yellow to a4, and the blue one to d6 and grounded the black one...and still no vtec...any help would be appreciated
im throwin a check engine light...but im not sure what for...because the knock sensor doesnt cause one to come up right?...and the oil in the engine is fine

go get the CEL scanned and see what it is..your car is probably in limp mode and vtec wont engage until you get whatever is throwing the CEL fixed

lol why wouldn't the knock sensor cause a check engine light?
If you're using the b18C ECU, the ECU senses that there is no knock sensor....and it will set a CEL.
Your VTEC should still work even with the knock CEL, though.
You know you can barely hear VTEC on GSR motors, right? It's at 4.5k. It's VERY VERY slight. The butterflies open at around 5800, which is what most people hear. If there is a vacuum line missing from the valve(s) that operates your butterflies, then you wont hear the intake change at 5800 RPM.
When are you listening for VTEC? At 4500 or at 5800?
