i just changed my oil yesterday in my gsr motor, but the thing i did different is put about a half of quart of lucas oil stabilizer, i was driving my car later in the day and when i hit the vtec sometimes it would throw on my check engine light and my car will just barley idle and wants to die. i would hit the vtec again and it would not even pop, it feels like the car is running very rich. since i run 5w30 could this be too rich with the oil stabilizer? and when my check engine light goes on in this case could it be because of my knock sensor?

did you diagnose your CEL? if you did what was your CEL code?

 

no im not to familiar with diagnostics.

 

then how do you know its the knock sensor? did it ever do this before? try switching back to your regular oil

 

i dont know if its the knock sensor, but yea i am going to put just my original oil in. thanks for the input.

 

Did this problem ever occur before hand or just now that you changed the oil?

Can you take it down to autozone and have the CEL checked out?

Try putting vinegar in gas tank to clean out the RFG-18 injector...or you could check your codes and report back
