Default engine problem

Ilet the car wam up and i drive it across town to get my sister from school, on the way back i was like what teh heck and floored it off a light( i hardly race anymore or drive fast) well it ran up the rpms till vtec, whaa vtec like normal, but then it haad a little barble. i didnt think anything of it so i shifted into 2nd(chiirp) fell out of vtec for a second( engine sounded normal) whaa vtec the lots of barbles and hesitations, it only does it in vtec and I cant figure out what up. No CEL so Im clueless. Please help
