i just replaced a head gasket on my d16z6 and when i put it back together it ran a little but fell on it's face so my buddy came over and said it was off a tooth which it was so we toke every thing back off and took the timing belt off and moved it a tooth but now it won't start at all so
my question is can someone tell how to set the time so i can make sure that i did it right

Pull the #1 sparkplug and stick a pencil in the hole. Then remove the distributor cap and align rotor to #1 sparkplug wire by turning the crank clock-wise when looking at the pulley.
Then work the crank back and forth til you see the pencil is up the farthest up signaling the the #1 piston is at the top.
Then take a rag and wipe off the pulley.
