i disconnected the spark plug wires from the distributor so i can work around the solenoid area and forgot to reconnect it when i went to start the car, car started and then died, now it does not start at all. could i have fried the ignitor?

If everything else is correct and you have given us all the details, you have just fried the coil, replace it.

is the coil the top part of the dizzy that says TEC on it? or is it the bottom part that has four connections?

I think your talking about the igntion module. The coil is the one sitting on the top with spring and you can see the + and - sign.

is it possible that while i started the car without the spark plug in that the spark hit any sensor near the vtec solenoid causing something to short out? right now i get ecu code 10 which is IAT but IAT is along ways from the dizzy area.

Have you checked for spark or is the motor simply not starting?

Either way you should track down the IAT issue first.

how do you know your not getting any sparks, cuhz if you have your spark plugs wiring wrong on the dizzy itll just turn over and maybe back fire. also is your stater turning? do you have fuel pressure? first thing i would do is check your fuse on the engine bay, if its good then check if your getting voltage on the the dizzy? you said you just changed the coil with a new one so i think it mite be the fuse or your not getting any voltage on your dizzy but ya check your timing too.

Have you hacked the distributor connector for a swap, and neglected to tell us that? IF nto make sure your pins are touching each other.

Check the BLK/YEL wire for 12V with the key in the ON (II) position.

okay fixed, i went to text the wire for 12v and no luck, at that point i realized that aftermarket dizzy connector doesnt snap in with the engine harness so i sanded some of the plastic and got it to snap into place. now everything up and running. i hope this dizzy last me for awhile. this was an expensive lesson. thanks for the help guys. now i got one thing left to solve and thats how much gas my gsr eats up.
