Default HELP car wont start

so i was driving last night and all the sudden the car just dies so we push start it and it starts right up. Then today i go to push start it and it wont turn over at all so we pull the plugs and cap today and the cap has got some fluid on the inside of it and the wires are in bad condition but the plugs looked fine. I get new wires on and it still wont start. My oil and battery light both came on evertime i try to start it so i added oil and tried to jump it but no luck. I need some ideas to narrow the problem down.

Hmm.. Sounds like something is not working correctly inside the distributor. This is what you have to do first. You have to check to see if there's spark. You'll need a buddy to help you with this.. Also, if you've got a spare spark plug lying around that also works, get it. If not, pull out the number one spark plug. If you're not sure which this is, I believe it's the one that's farthest from the distributor. Stick the spark plug into the spark plug wire/cable. Now with a friend in the driver's seat with the key in the "OFF" position, you have to place the tip of the spark plug on a "GROUNDED" metal surface. Pretty much any part of your engine bay frame doesn't have paint or a lot of paint on. Have your buddy turn the key to the "ON" position (I think that's right). As he turns the key, look to see if you see a spark come from the spark plug to the grounded surface. If you don't see a spark, then you know that it's your distributor that's giving you problems. If there is a spark, it's not your distributor. So if you don't get a spark, you can try and test to see what's wrong with it. But you're on your own on that one. But here's something that might help. If your distributor is bad, try swapping in a friend's distributor to see if your car starts. Because if it does start, then you definitely know what's wrong. And if you can, try swapping in a "Fuel Injector Main Relay". You want to swap it in only if you don't have a spark. If you do swap it in, make sure you swap in the distributor too. This is pretty much how I fixed my problem.. But before you do this...------ (Do it at your own risk, I'm not responsible for any mishaps that might occur...)------

Good Luck! Any more questions, let me know..

i found that the dist. wires were melted so i replaced the dist. but it is misfiring badly. Im getting spark but the engine is sputtering or stubling beyond 2k rpm... and ideas on what that could be?
