So I went to the mall today, and was kind of worried that my car might get stolen. (Yes, this is a ghetto mall) So I popped the hood, and pulled out one of the spark plug wires. And went on with my business at the mall. When I came back, I started the car not realizing that I forgot to insert the spark plug wires back into the dizzy and into the cylinders. So the car sputtered for less than 2 seconds and I quickly turned it off. Then once I plugged the spark plug wire back in. I tried to start the car, and it still wouldnt start. I thought maybe I touched some other wires but I checked and even tripled checked. I didnt touched anything else but the spark plug wire. It cranks and cranks, it just would not start. It was working fine before I took the spark plug wire out. I think maybe I fried the dizzy because I let it run for a few seconds. Anyone have any insight to this?

X2. The job of the coil is to produce enough voltage to jump across the gap of the spark plug. When you introduce a larger gap (spark plug wire off and the plug gap now) the coil, which was likely already weak to begin with, stops working.

There are tons of other possibilities yes, but the coil makes the most sense.
