Default Boosting D16Y7

okay i have a y7 in my EG and im planning on boosting it really soon. but 1 question i have is should i use a LS ECU (B18B1) to run it and get it hondata s100 tuned. right now i have a p05 i believe and the red line is at 5700 it sucks. i just wanna raise up my red line a little using the LS ecu. another thing im going to be running off H22 injectors 310cc's and FMU til i get a appointment to get tuned etc... will i need to use a hack safc or vafc to run those h22 injectors? LMK you guys

dude just get a chip kit, throw CromePro on that ****, and stick with ur obd1 setup... also those injectors are small, u can get dsm 450's for like 50 bucks, <4> 10 watt 10 ohm resistors from radio shack for $1.85, and ur good... Get tuned for like $200 and still have spent less than buying hondata, safc, ect but producing more HP and still reliable...

Yeah, those injectors are too small.

Also, get an oil pump before you boost. A major problem with the D16Y series is the oil pumps go out causing spun bearings - this is why a lot of D16Y motors take a **** under boost. If you're not going to put a dry sump in there at least replace it before you boost.

As we speak the oil pump on my Y8's about to go, I gotta change that stupid thing .

They're known to go, don't skimp on your engine's health in trade of more power or anything of the sort - it's not worth it.

okay im going to change the oil pump,t-belt,water pump, headgasket.

- and so im better off sticking with dsm 450's.

-and another thing i wanna use a LS ecu on my y7 will this throw any codes? i cant think of any it will throw. and will it bog at all? anyone done it? reason i want a LS ecu is cuz after the D i have a LS swap on the side. and i wanna do hondata on the LS ECU with Y7 boosted. and then do LS boosted with my same ecu. and obviously get it retuned

when u get ur oil pump dont get another y7/8 lol... get a high flow pump since thats gonna be ur main reason for spinnin a bearing with ur current motor..

and dude, as long as ur swap is OBD1 it doesnt matter what computer u have thats why i said just get a chip kit and tune ur ****, than later tune it for boosted ls... my homeboy used my po5 i believe, DX computer on his LS swap, chipped it, and tuned his **** and it ran nice... there's no reason in spending 8 bazillion dollars on **** if u dont have to ya know, afterall isnt that why were in the honda game and not cruisin in buggattis..??

dsm 450 cc injectors works but you will need to run injector resistors. or you can use some high impendence injectors from rx7 which also works
